Next up in Sarah Lacy’s backstage interviews with the stars of AllThingsD 10 she sits down with “the Voldemort of the technology industry,” Intellectual Ventures’ Nathan Myhrvold.

Myhrvold is one of tech’s most notorious “patent trolls,” buying up an enormous portfolio of patents and then aggressively licensing and enforcing them for fun and huge profit.

While Myhrvold makes a passionate defense of his business practices, claiming that patent trolling is “on the margin,” regular readers might not be surprised to learn that Sarah doesn’t exactly buy his argument. This is a fun one.

(Note: On stage, Myhrvold claimed that “Thomas Edison’s business model was very similar to ours.” Here’s The Oatmeal on Thomas Edison).
