Next Thursday, we’ll conclude our year of PandoMonthly in New York by having a long talk with the infamous Henry Blodget.
When I first proposed this to my team some months ago, Yammer erupted into debate. When I told an earlier PandoMonthly audience about it, I heard actual “hisses.”
So it may surprise (and disappoint?) you to learn that I’m a big fan of Henry’s. I’ve known him since the early days of Business Insider– and his career change to journalist. We used to co-host a show called TechTicker on Yahoo Finance together (see right). I think he’s one of the most insightful people on public Internet companies and his almost cartoon-character-like enthusiasm always makes me laugh. He’s also an epic survivor of haters and adversity.
It also hard not to respect Henry as an entrepreneur. Our conversation will be a great addition to the lineup of past media moguls we’ve had on our New York stage including Jonah Peretti, Lewis DVorkin, and Chris Hughes. (Spoiler: Next year, we’ll have Vice’s Shane Smith and Vox Media’s Jim Bankoff. Get excited!)
Come get your mogul on along with free dimsum and beer. Getting to know Blodget better just might change your opinion of the slide show king.
