Business Insider co-founder, editor-in-chief, and CEO Henry Blodget joined us on Thursday for the last PandoMonthly New York event of the year to discuss his “colossal mistake” as a writer; his fall from Wall Street’s graces and eventual redemption; and the merits of Business Insider’s infamous slideshows.

Blodget also discussed the problems with publications that focus exclusively on high-minded, long-form content; the reason Business Insider is able to publish so many articles about seemingly inane subjects without alienating readers; and the company’s new focus on creating the novella-length special reports that probably wouldn’t have appeared on its domain just a few months ago.

Our next PandoMonthly event will be in Los Angeles with the media-savvy Jason Calacanis on November 21. Then there’s an interview in San Francisco with Twitter CEO Dick Costolo on December 5 — after that it’s the end of the PandoMonthly 2013 tour. The full interview with Blodget is available for streaming below.
