For as long as we’ve been hosting our Pando Monthly fireside chats, attendees have been asking us to book Box’s Aaron Levie. But part of the beauty of our events isn’t just grilling someone entertaining who’s built a great business. It’s having them at the right time, like Kevin Systrom right after he was bought by Facebook or Dick Costolo just after Twitter went public.
It’s clear that Aaron Levie is about to have a huge moment — which means it’s time for a sit down with the man of the hour.
Levie has assiduously transformed himself from wacky 20-something founder to serious enterprise software elephant hunter. (Suits!) Close to 100,000 people follow his witty industry bon mots on Twitter. His company was a unicorn that Mark Cuban admits got away. And now Box is teed up to go public, in a deal that some say is even richer than Salesforce.com and others think could be the next big SAAS hit.
After all that? He’s joining me on stage at our upcoming Southland conference in Nashville. Levie has joined our speaking line up that includes everyone from former US vice president Al Gore to hot up-and-comer Tristan Walker.
And in case you forgot, Southland will also feature a startup competition unlike any demo day you’ve seen before— among other twists our all-star roster of judges will be investing their own cash in the winner. (Applications are open and flooding in!)
And…. perhaps even cooler…. Southland is right before Bonnaroo and our partners on the event are Bonnaroo co-producers AC Entertainment and Superfly who are are booking evening entertainment in Nashville for us during Southland. We’ve already announced one great headliner: St. Paul & the Broken Bones.
More announcement on the music lineup coming soon. More info on the Southern food and whiskey tastings we’re having there too. And more judges, more speaker announcement — and more more more!
Pretty much the only thing that needs to happen right this second is you going here to grab a ticket to experience this first ever Pando Southern Fried adventure with us this June.
