Cecile is professor of Epidemiology at the department of Epidemiology of the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, Atlanta, USA. Her research concerns the translation of genomics research to applications in clinical and public health care, with a focus on the predictive ability and utility of genomic risk prediction. She has conducted many methodological studies on how to assess the predictive ability and utility, and supervised assessments of the predictive ability in empirical studies for various common multifactorial diseases. Dr. Janssens has published over 150 papers in international scientific journals and received three prestigious personal grants, most recently the European Research Council Starting grant.
