As people patiently wait for the newest version of the iPhone, many are realizing they are having to wait a little bit longer. With shipping dates 4-6 weeks out in the U.S. and the only way to nab one in China is by a lottery system, the slow output can be attributed to an aluminum issue. The iPhone 5 was made with a sleeker design using a particular type of aluminum. The only problem is the iPhone 5 was more susceptible to scratches during production, which is now causing Apple to take longer to examine phones to ensure the devices are in tip top condition before shipping.
