After the government of Texas issued a tax bill of $269 million to Amazon, the company was expected to fight it to the last breath like it does with most state-tax law issues. However, as Geekwire reports, the company has settled the bill, and has promised to begin collecting sales tax on all purchases made in Texas. In addition, the company is promising to create a number of new jobs in the state, as well as to make sizable capital investments in the state.
