Mike Brown Jr., who co-founded AOL Ventures, has left that post to form his own independent fund. Called Bowery Ventures, the New York-based fund has $33 million in capital commitments. The firm’s investment team includes Nic Poulos and Keegan Forte, also from AOL Ventures. Additional partners are as follows: Sailthru founder Neil Capel, Codeacademy founder Zach Sims Premise Data founder David Soloff,  and ex-AOL Ventures and Google exec Adam Smith.
