The consortium behind the open standards that guide the web, the W3C, is complaining that Apple and Google are killing the open web. As the two companies continue to push WebKit-only features as a standard, other browsers that are technically capable of enabling the features (yet aren’t WebKit browser) are forced to masquerade as another browser. While this may seem like a bad situation to be in, it also sounds like, “Apple and Google have been too successful, and it’s hurting everyone.”
