Kantar Worldpanel Comtech, a group that tracks smartphone sales rates, reports that Apple reached its highest US marketshare in history at 53 percent over the 12 weeks ending November 25 – up 5 percent from the 12 weeks ending a month earlier. In Europe, Android set its own record over the same period, claiming 61 percent of the pie led by none other than Apple’s chief rival Samsung. Stats on RIM and Windows Phone are also available, but those are too depressing to report this close to the holidays. [Source: TechCrunch]
