Today at Apple’s education announcement, they released a new piece of software aimed at helping authors create textbooks in a simple, straightforward way. However, their EULA is demonstrating that either Apple is being a bit too controlling (even Gruber admits it), or a lawyer got carried away. The EULA states that if an author creates the book in iBooks Author, that the book cannot be sold anywhere other than the iBookstore. Yes, you read that correctly. And no, that’s not a normal provision in a EULA.
