Nearly a decade after opening its virtual doors in the us in April 2003, the iTunes Store is launching in 56 additional countries today, including notably, Russia, India, Turkey, and South Africa. There will be over 20 million songs available for purchase in these new international iTunes stores, including the bulk of the music available in the US from major record labels as well as a local music selection in each country or region.
