Eric Slivka has posted some numbers on how successful the iPhone is on AT&T’s network. According to the MacRumors report, the iPhone accounts for 75% of AT&T’s smartphone sales, and 60% of all phone sales on AT&T. Yes, this means that the iPhone is not only responsible for driving smartphone sales for AT&T, but that it is also responsible for a majority of all phone sales on AT&T’s network. The chances of AT&T renegotiating subsidies are slim, as some people have predicted.
