Last year, the Bay Area added about 92,000 jobs, returning the area to dot-com boom levels, according to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Silicon Valley accounted for 42,000 of those jobs. But the boom isn’t helping everyone. The report noted that the gap between high-income and low-income earners has increased, and blacks and Latinos in the area have seen their incomes drop, even as whites and Asians have seen income increases.
