Texan Brian McCarthy was arrested in 2011 after his website Channelsurfing.net was seized after it was found to be providing links for illegal sports streams. He was he was accused of copyright infringement with the indictment stating McCarthy “did willfully infringe a copyright for purposes of financial gain.” After the case has lagged on for the last two years, the U.S. government granted McCarthy amnesty, stating it was in the best interest to do so. Whatever that means. McCarthy does have to jump through a few hoops, like getting a real job, and has been ordered to pay over $350,000. [Source: Torrent Freak]
