China has begun a crackdown on microblog services inside of its borders, including popular providers like Sina Weibo and Tencent Weibo. The government has suspended the use of comments on the sites, and is working to kill rumors of an impeding political coup that have been spreading on the Internet. The outages of these features will last until the morning of April 3rd, according to a notice on the sites. Of course, if the talk continues the crackdown could grow more strict and severe.
