Cisco has announced that it has funded an advanced networking startup called Insieme with $100 million. Insieme has been founded by three former-Cisco employees, who previously founded companies that were designed to be purchased by Cisco. It appears that Cisco is repeating this pattern, with the Times is calling this process of founding and being purchased by investors by design a “spin-in company”. Insieme will reportedly work on advancing SDN technology, something Google has been repeatedly talking about recently.
