Data packages in the United States can range from $30 to $80 per month, with the lowest plans available typically offering 2GB of data. The Bits blog cited a Cisco study that detailed that most mobile users, despite paying for the data plan with a higher limit, didn’t go past around 5% of the amount allotted to them. Remember that the next time you go shopping and think that you may want that 5GB data plan; chances are that you probably don’t, and the money you’re spending is just lining the carriers’ pockets.
