IBM has been seeking an acquirer for its low-end x86 server business for nearly two years and the WSJ is reporting that Dell may be interested. Dell, of course, was recently taken private by founder Michael Dell and private equity firm Silver Lake Partners with the intention of transitioning away from the consumer PC business toward enterprise hardware and services. Lenovo was previously interested, but walked away from the negotiating table in 2012 after valuing the unit, which generates $4.9 billion in (low-margin) revenue, at just $2.5 billion. No word on whether they remain interested. [Source: WSJ]
