I was never into the Boy Scouts as a kid. Besides my general lack of ability where knots and altruism are concerned, that whole “going outside” thing didn’t mesh well with my world view. Now I wish that something like DIY were around when I was a kid, as the company aims to teach children how to make awesome things (there’s a picture of a makeshift light saber in a post describing the company) and build a community of “makers.” Hopefully this movement towards fostering innovation for innovation’s sake makes its way up the cultural chain.
