As consumers fight to gain increased access to their electronic devices while flying, the FAA is submitting a proposal to limit their use by pilots in the cockpit. Currently, pilots are only limited from using their gadgets while in the process of taking off and landing. Digital flight manuals and other utility devices will be exempted from the regulations.
