Facebook went public and surpassed 1 billion monthly active users this year, and along with record numbers came epic change. January marked sponsored feed ads and February hosted the start of timeline. March began updated event pages and soon April started testing trending articles. May redesigned the mobile feed, while June launched the Facebook app center. July created the recommendation bar, August redesigned messages, and September rolled out Facebook gifts. Then October tested “collections”, while November toying with photo sync. This month users saw privacy updates to make blocking users easier.
