Facebook users in New Zealand have begun receiving a roll-out of a new single-column design for Timelines, which emphasizes communication between friends and is more Twitter-like. In the new layout, all status updates and communications from friends are shown only in the left-hand column, which has been substantially enlarged. The right-hand column is now smaller, the Friends box is now square, and boxes that link to Friends, Photos, Maps, and Likes in the Timeline headers have been moved to a menu list. So far, New Zealand, which is typically Facebook’s test market, is the only country to receive the new design. Head over to The Next Web for screenshots.
