Uhoh. Microsoft’s latest “Security Essentials 4.1″ anti-virus software failed to get the certification of the AV-TEST institute. The software was one of only three of the 25 different vendors tested not to be certified – the others were AhnLab V3 Internet Security 8.0 and PC Tools Internet Security 2012. Microsoft received an average score of 71 percent compared to the industry average of 92 percent, largely due to its inability to protect against zero-day malware attacks. [Source: AV-Test]
