The FCC has pulled the plug on LightSquared’s ambitious venture to become the next high-speed wireless network. The company originally planned on providing the high-speed network over satellite airwaves, but upon its announcement, GPS makers, the military and lawmakers all protested. Apparently, the FCC agreed with the various third-parties and believes LightSquared would cause too much trouble in the wireless space. So much for that idea!
