From “The Social Network” to “Zero Dark Thirty,” Hollywood has been increasingly impatient about adapting recent real-life events into films. And so it goes with “The Fifth Estate,” a new film about Wikileaks founder Julian Assange which began filming today. Assange will be played by the excellently-named British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, star of the BBC’s modern-day “Sherlock” TV series. And while director Bill Condon was most recently behind the camera on the last two “Twilight” films, he also proved his biopic chops with 2004′s solid “Kinsey.” [Source: Businesswire]
