A new study out of Georgia Tech looked at 45,000 Kickstarter projects and identified 10 phrases that can make or break a campaign. Phrases most associated with successful campaigns were “also receive two,” “mention your,” “given the chance,” “your continued,” and “we can afford.” Phrases associated with unsuccessful campaigns included “not been able,” “even a dollar,” “later I,” “a blank,” “hope to get.” In other words: be positive, live in the here and now, and don’t sound too desperate.
