Continuing YouTube’s quest towards becoming more than the place to post that video of your brother falling off his skateboard as a kitten plays a piano, Google has announced that YouTube (and Google’s Play property) will offer 500 of Paramount’s films, from recent releases to past hits. The deal comes despite Paramount’s parent company, Viacom, suing Google for $1 billion on claims that YouTube was allowing users to upload clips from TV shows.
