Google has confirmed that its services have been cut off in Iran, since February 10th. The government of Iran is cracking down on secure internet connections in the lead up to a  “big nuclear announcement”, as well as the anniversary of the revolution. While Iran’s Information Technology Organization and the Telecommunication Infrastructure Co. (that’s a mouthful) have said that they are unaware of the problem, that’s not too much of a surprise. It’s not like they’re going to say, “Yeah, we cut off service because we don’t want a revolution overthrowing a government that’s not very popular right now.”
