According to CNET, Google has spent a record amount of money on lobbying last quarter. The company reportedly spent $5 million last quarter in an effort to win over politicians in Washington. That is far above the $3.76 million it spent in the preceding quarter, and far above the $1.48 million it spent at this time last year. This isn’t surprising, as Google has been under increased scrutiny from the government, but it is surprising how quickly Google has been scaling its resources in DC.
