When Google finally finishes acquiring Motorola later this year, they will then become heir to not only Motorola’s various lawsuits and patents, but also the licensing agreements Motorola has with other companies. Google issued a statement today saying that they will honor these agreements, and push for the highest royalty possible on them. No big deal, except Motorola recently asked the court to impose a 2.25% royalty on all iPhones sold, which would mean Google then gets 2.25% of all iPhones sold. Good way to make money, if you can get it.
