According to Florian Mueller of FOSS Patents, Google is set to file a motion to declare a mistrial in its case against Oracle over Java and patent infringement. The jury in the case had decided yesterday that Google infringed upon Oracle’s patents, but did not say whether or not the infringement was okay under fair use law. Now, Google is trying to get the entire trial restarted, and a new jury brought in, so that it can try to convince another jury of its intentions, rather than convincing the judge overseeing the trial.
