In the second day of the Oracle-Google trial over patent and copyright infringement, Google has released its slides making its defense into the wild. While Oracle’s claims are that Google willfully and knowingly infringed upon Java patents, Google is claiming that Oracle is pushing its case to solely make money, and that Java is free and open source software. While technically true, the Java language is open and free, but the Java API’s are not the same thing as the language itself. It will be interesting to see how the judge rules on that particular point.
