The Federal government has seized the domains of multiple unauthorized sports streaming sites, in the run-up to the Super Bowl. The domains seized were all found to be in violation of copyright law, and one of the sites’ owners was even arrested. This is the latest in a string of seizures and legal actions against copyright infringing sites, and it primarily highlights the unnecessary nature of SOPA and PIPA and ACTA (and any other bag acronyms that are out there).
