The iPhone was released today on an additional five regional carriers in the United States. Alaska Communications, Appalachian Wireless, GCL, Cellcom, and nTelos will all carry the iPhone as of today, giving people in rural and underserved areas access to the smartphone. To remain competitive against the big four carriers, the companies will offer the iPhone 4S for $50 less, and the iPhone 4 for $99.
