A judge in New York has ruled that just because a person normally uses an IP address, that does not mean that you can sue the person because there is illegal activity tied to the IP address. This could mean that the threat of mass-Torrent lawsuits may be thrown out, which would affect nearly 250,000 alleged downloaders. The music and movie industry will clearly fight back on this, but the fact that the judge is actually able to understand reason is a good sign for all.
