Eugene Kaspersky is claiming that Apple is a full decade behind Microsoft in terms of security, and that the Flashback trojan that took the Apple blogosphere by storm a month ago is only the first of such attacks. Kaspersky’s argument is that Mac malware will continue to rise as Mac marketshare rises, an oft-repeated idea that has yet to come to fruition. What makes Kaspersky so qualified to make this statement, you ask? Well, he runs a company that builds antivirus/anti-malware software. Now, how could he possibly benefit from a bunch of paranoid Mac users? That’s a riddle.
