It’s unsurprising that Kickstarter would want to highlight successful projects or those that the public can still fund. What’s surprising is the extent to which it goes to hide those which have failed. The crowdfunding site is adding code to the failed sites to keep them from being indexed by search engines. This means the only way to find them is through the site’s own search bar or with a permalink. One risk of doing this is that new entrepreneurs have a more difficult time accessing and acting upon the lessons available in failed projects. [Source Dan Misner]
