Marissa Mayer spoke out publicly for the first time since sleep-gate, in which the Yahoo CEO was lambasted for arriving nearly two hours late to a dinner with potential advertisers. In an interview with Bloomberg, Mayer said:

“I feel like our ad story is really resonating and I’m really quite happy with it. I think the dinner is unfortunate how much attention it’s gotten. I was late. I apologized to IPG at the time and in no way meant for it to be a slight to them.”
As Box’s Aaron Levie reportedly pointed out, the news here may be that the notoriously hard working Mayer sleeps at all, as opposed to the inverse. Beyond that it seems a lot like scorned advertisers looking to sully her reputation. [Source: Bloomberg]
