In addition to updating many of its once popular services like Mail, Flickr, and even its homepage, Yahoo is said to be eyeing a board refresh in the near future. DealBook suggests that former PayPal exec Max Levchin will be among the new additions. Kara Swisher writes that new CEO Marissa Mayer is “looking to consolidate her power more firmly and add more Internet savvy members as directors.” Good on her, as they say. The existing board has overseen a stagnant product strategy and revolving door of executives. Maybe some fresh blood will further cement the “this is not your father’s Yahoo” messaging that Mayer has been shouting from rooftops since taking over at the end of summer.
