A new startup the offers data virtualization named Nicira has raised $50 million from a number of investors, including Andreessen-Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, NEA, VMware Founder Diane Greene and Andy Rachleff. The company has plans to overtake the dominant networking giants, Cisco and Juniper Networks, with its new services. It has already signed up companies like NTT, eBay, AT&T, and Fidelity Investments.
