Ars Technica has smacked down a recurring rumor that Apple employees are put to work on fake projects when they are first hired, citing numerous engineers in the company who hadn’t participated in or heard of the practice. The report acknowledges that some employees’ projects may not see the light of day, but that’s called “trying new things,” not “setting a trap for new employees and wasting their time and company dollars.”
