New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has taken a ton of heat this month after it was revealed that one of Christie’s staff members requested that a lane be closed on the George Washington Bridge to create traffic into the town of Fort Lee, where Christie had failed to receive an endorsement from its mayor. Now, according to a letter provided to the New York Times from a former Port Authority official and high school colleague of Christie, “evidence exists” that the governor had prior knowledge of the lane closures.
