Apple and Amazon’s war for readers’ eyeballs has come to a strange point: Apple is now rejecting books based off of links to physical copies of the books sold by Amazon. The book in question is written by Seth Godin, an incredibly popular and influential blogger and marketer. Apple’s rejection note stated that the book contains, “Multiple links to Amazon store.” Oddly enough, the books linked to are physical books, which Apple obviously doesn’t compete with Amazon on. Godin’s advice? “Amazon and Apple and B&N need to take a deep breath.” Seconded.
