An article at GigaOm poses a question: Do we want the Web to be open or closed? Techies like us can argue this point all day until we’re blue in the face, pitting the “walled garden” approach versus the open approach that, until recently, was pushed by the likes of Google. But we aren’t the people that really matter. Normal people don’t care about things like open technologies or strictly filtered APIs. It’s out of our hands, and instead of debating open versus closed we need to work on educating the ignorant.
