The White House is looking to get into the spirit of hackathons by launching National Day of Civic Hacking. The event is looking to bring together the tech community to provide open source data to help solve problems in America. The hackathon wants to bring people together with the “mission of addressing and solving challenges relevant to OUR blocks, OUR neighborhoods, OUR cities, OUR states, and OUR country.” Several agencies including NASA, the Census Bureau, and the Department of Labor have signed up to participate. The event will take place on June 1st and 2nd. [Source: The White House]
