Earlier this week, French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy joined Twitter. Now, in an effort to bolster his voice on the network, it appears that he requested that Twitter takedown 4 different Sarkozy-related accounts. The accounts are all clearly labeled as parody accounts and don’t appear to be in violation of Twitter’s rules. While this wouldn’t normally be seen as a big deal, the fact that the account closures happened at the same time as Sarkozy joining the network seems to point to him being able to pull strings at Twitter.
