Apple reportedly bought 200 million mobile processors from Samsung this year, up from 130 million last year. So when the Korean manufacturer raised prices this week, it was no trivial matter. The hike could be viewed as the course of normal business, but given the ongoing patent litigation between the two companies, and overall souring relationship, it may indicate something much more. Apple has been moving away from relying on Samsung to supply critical components. This could be the final push needed to complete this shift. [Source GigaOM]
