Upworthy is a site designed to utilize “super clicky headlines” to attract readers to  substantial content. The company saw 2.5 million unique views in June, its third month of operation; according to the New York Times’ David Carr, that puts Upworthy on a higher growth trajectory than The Huffington Post and Business Insider. Carr compares the clickbait headlines presiding over “real” content to putting “chocolate sauce on brussels sprouts,” which sounds like the oddest way of saying “the best of both worlds” we’ve ever read.
