The Iranian government has blocked public access to VPNs, in the lead-up to parliamentary elections. In a country where every move is watched by the government, VPNs have historically provided access to foreign nations, also providing Iranians access to a free source of information. While there is no telling how long the continued interruptions will continue, it is likely that they will remain in place until at least the elections, and likely after that.
